When it's too late to start bailing!

There is limit on how much time we have to reverse the damage we have done... We all know this, so what's stopping us from bailing when the ship is going down?

In my daily duties at AusPen I have run into many that say they want to change our wasteful ways so when I hear about those that are trying I do what I can to help by sending along a sample or information on sustainable lifestyles i have picked up along the way.
For example there is a certain morning show here in Australia that says they wish to "cool the globe" and help the efforts to reverse the effects we are having on our environment, they are sponsoring campaigns to have businesses using less, turning off lights and such ... So I've joined in by signing petitions and such, this particular morning show has a segment that features a thing they call the R.O.S wall where they take note of suggestions of all types on a large White board.... A white board ? Hmmm? This is something I can help out with... so I pack up one of our Carry Cases and send my simple gift off to them ...Pa Rumm Pa pum pum...
hoping that they will see the wisdom in the product ... but they never reply or use them so evey morning at Sunrise I watch them using disposable markers filled with xylene and wonder what they are waiting for?
Maybe one day when the Sun-Rises it will dawn on them that it is so much better to create less waste.

It's not easy being green!

As most know I start everyday by asking myself what would Kermit do?
Yes KTF (Kermit the frog) is my personal guide, of all the demigods he is by far the most fun, show me one other that has has his own long-running TV show, or as many hit songs.
So much great advice from one little frog.
I now devote my life to the teachings of this great frog, I plan to spend my life walking in his flipper prints!
He's the only talking frog I know of, other than that singing frog from Warner brothers cartoons, and what sage advice did he have? "I'm just wild about Harry"?
Sure a great tune but... how's that gonna help save the planet?
Granted if your name is actually Harry ... you might feel good ... for a minute but then what?
No, Kermie has the nous, just think of all the positivity contained in the lyrics of "rainbow connection" "the lovers , the dreamers & me!" now that's good stuff!


Now... the above idea is pure craziness and if you tried to absorb all the information about green living you'd be just as crazy, it is not easy being green (or reading about it) But...
It is considerably easier being sustainable!
Sustainability is an idea you can hold on to, by simply doing things that won't lead to your untimely demise.

Do you ride a motorcycle?
Well then wear a helmet... that's sustainable. (that'll keep your brain from leaking out in the event of an accident)

Ride a push bike? well... stay in the bike lane and watch out for car doors and wear a helmet (see above) That's sustainable.

Live on the planet Earth?
Well then don't litter, or do all the other things that make it harder to live here!
That's sustainable!

If your dating Miss Piggy and she asks does my bum look big in this ...say no.

That's sustainable!
That's sensible!

It's not just about the environment...

The unofficial AusPen Blog?

Yess now that the new AusPen Website is up I guess this space has by default become the unofficial AusPen Blog. a place for those ideas not endorsed by the management.
I wonder ... should I sue Me for using that logo?
I'll take it under advisement.

It is so beautiful

But it will never be the same, truth be told it isn't the same now.
At the same time as it revolves it evolves species die out a little less land here a little more there, wells dry up, people move from one place to another all beyond our perception & control... or is it?
Sustainability simply means caring. caring about how we live, how much we take.
Caring about each other , and the places we live and the way we live, it is not sustainable to care about the planet , but not the people.
It is not sustainable to care about some people but not all the people.
From this distance the earth looks like one organism ... and it is everything that says different is myth and illusion.

It's not just about the environment...
